WPF is a private, “invitation only” membership organization. Our key goals are:

  • To provide support to professional women
  • To exchange information and ideas and share experiences with one another
  • To encourage women to attain high career goals
  • To enhance careers through a network of professional contacts

HISTORY

In the mid-1970's, two business associates and long-time friends discovered they shared a mutual desire for an organization that would provide support, exchange of ideas, encouragement, and stimulation for career women. As this ambitious concept came into focus, the two pioneers, fueled by each other's enthusiasm, decided to spread the word. To their surprise and relief, the need appeared to be universal among their career-oriented women friends and associates. With much peer encouragement, cooperation, and sheer tenacity the two women saw their dream actualized. Christened "The Women's Professional Forum," the new organization was finally launched in the year 1977.


Since 1997, the Women's Professional Forum of  Greensboro has worked to serve the needs of professional and managerial women in the community. The key goals are:

  1. To provide support to professional women.
  2. To exchange information and ideas, and share experiences with one another.
  3. To encourage women to attain high career goals by promoting confidence and providing professional developmental opportunities.
  4. To further individual careers through a network of professional contact.


Over the years, the Women's Professional Forum has grown to nearly 150 members. In recognition of the special place the original members will always hold in the Women's Professional Forum, the following were named Charter Members in 1978:
