ARTISTA: CALL FOR ARTWORK

2ND ANNUAL ART EXHIBIT AND SALE
February 25, 2010

The Women’s Professional Forum (WPF), in conjunction with SKIRT Magazine, will host the 2nd Annual ARTISTA Art Exhibit and Sale featuring Guilford County women artists from Friday, February 26 through Monday, March 1 in the Marshall Art Gallery in Greensboro, NC. Thursday night, February 25, will be a ticketed, fund-raising event. Proceeds from the ticketed event and sale of art will benefit the WPF Foundation, which makes grants to Guilford County organizations whose programs “nurture girls to be tomorrow’s leaders”.

 

Eligibility:

Women artists and artisans living/working in Guilford County, NC.

 

Media:

Two- and three-dimensional works of fine arts and crafts, including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, collage, wood, sculpture, photography, mixed media, clay, fiber and jewelry. All works must be original, of an artistic nature, created in the last two years, be ready to hang/display and may not exceed 20 lbs. or 48” in height or width. Artis may submit up to two (2) large works, or up to five (5) for jewelry, small pottery, glass and fibre. The event committee reserves right to make final selections for inclusion in the show. Artists may be asked for digital images of works to be used for promotional purposes on the SKIRT or WPF websites.

 

Sales:

Artists must indicate asking price as well as a reserve, or an acceptable minimum purchase price, for each work. Artists will receive 50% of sales price received on opening night, Thursday, February 25 (other 50% will go to the WPF Foundation). For sales occurring Friday, February 26 through Monday, March 1, artists will receive 50% of the sale, Marshall Art Gallery 40%, and WPF Foundation 10%. Should any artist wish to donate their work to this worthy cause, donations will be gratefully accepted!

 

Delivery and Pick Up:

Works, with submittal forms, are to be delivered on Tuesday, February 23 to the Marshall Art Gallery at 301-H Pisgah Church Rd, between noon and 6pm. Works that are not selected for the show or do not sell are to be picked up between noon and 6pm on Tuesday, March 2 at the same location. Artists with unsold works will be notified early Tuesday morning.

 

Intent to participate/questions:
